The most patriotic of holidays is practically upon us!
The 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year, and while it may disrupt our work week, you can bet that it won’t stop us from celebrating!
America’s birthday always calls for the finest of celebrations. A day spent with friends and family either grilling, on the lake, or just relaxing at home before the ULTIMATE party that evening–FIREWORKS!
People can begin popping off fireworks at early as tonight (6/28) and run through July 5th, but there are some stipulations!
Under Section 38-294 of Bossier City’s Code of Ordinances, fireworks may be sold and discharged within the city limits of Bossier City from June 28 through July 5, inclusive, from the hours of 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Anyone who discharges fireworks outside the legal time period can face fines up to $500 and/or 60 days in jail.
We’re all for everyone having a good time, but remember to be courteous to those around you! Try to wrap up your personal firework show before too late in the evening, that way the folks who have to work the next day don’t turn into grouches. 😉 Also, be a safe sparker! Don’t set off fireworks somewhere that a stray spark could start a fire. NEVER point fireworks at a person or an animal. And remember, most pets aren’t big fans of all the scary booms and lights. Keep your furbabies secure inside, and give them a safe space they can camp out in until the festivities are over.
Now that I’ve gotten my mom talk out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff! Who has the best fireworks in the area?! The good stuff, not just the sparklers and fizzpops (though I love those too!) Which stand has the best bang for your buck? Share your secrets with us!
