I’m Guilty. I Confess!

“Irusu–pretending to be out when someone knocks on your door”

The Japanese have found the perfect description of my home life. I’ve gotten to be such a hermit that unless I know you’re coming, I typically won’t answer the door. I equate it to the letting an unknown number go to voicemail. Tell me what you want first, then I’ll decide if I want to engage! Horrible, isn’t it?

Just last night I watched an episode of Criminal Minds where a woman who was being chased by an attacker couldn’t get any of the houses in the neighborhood to open the door to help her. “How terrible!” I thought as I went to lock the front door. Why wouldn’t those people help that poor woman?

Never mind the fact that I won’t open my front door unless I know what the person on the other side wants…..

Anyone else guilty of committing irusu?
