“The tone of your voice matters”

Think about your kids and your pets. When you use what I call the “ugly voice,” they straighten up and act right!

And think about some of the squabbles you’ve had in relationships…. So often it’s started by the tone of voice used to deliver the message. Yes dear! v. yes dear….

Keep yourself level headed when you get mad. Control your voice, volume, and tone. You’ll seem more professional, more gathered, and more in control of the situation.

Also, keep this in mind when you’re tempted to text an important message! Tone gets lost when reading words on a screen, and oftentimes we assume the worst. Save those big talks for face to face, so there’s no mistake about your intentions.
