If you are a Louisiana Utilities customer and can’t pay your electric, gas, telephone, or water and sewerage bills during the COVID-19 emergency, you will have temporary relief from shutoff thanks to an emergency order by the Louisiana Public Service Commission.
According to a news release, the order will cover millions of utility customers across all parts of Louisiana. Only situations where concerns of public safety cause a utility to disconnect are exempted, such as a gas leak.
The order will remain inplace until the LPSC changes or revokes it.
