Possible Traffic Congestion as Texas Troopers Screen Travelers from Louisiana

Our neighbor, Travelin’ Tom Michaels from 98 Rocks is keeping an eye on what’s happening with Louisiana and Texas travel!

Plan for possible traffic congestion on interstates and highways entering Texas from Louisiana.  Back on March 30th, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed an executive order for all Louisianans crossing state line into Texas be quarantined for 14 days.  Commercial vehicles shouldn’t be effected with this, but still, they may face traffic backups in areas. Anyone who does not follow the self-quarantine order will be subject to criminal penalties for violations. That’s up to a $1,000 fine or up to 180 days in jail, or both.  More HERE

Those of us in Louisiana, do understand the concern from residents in Texas.  The virus case number in Louisiana is high, and the number of cases (at the moment) in Texas, are lower – considering the large number of population and area in Texas.  As soon as these troubled times pass, I’ll look forward to crossing the state line in the TomsMaHauL.com motorhome and roaming around East Texas to visit friends & re-opened businesses.  When Texas has been faced with challenges, Louisiana has been good & understanding, neighbors, and when help is needed, we’ll come running to help, as we have in the past.
