The roots for this monster hit for Tim are traced back to the songwriter Lori McKenna, who penned the song as a list of things she wanted to tell her 5 children.

Throughout the song we hear reminders of things we’ve been told over and over again, (don’t steal, don’t cheat, and don’t lie) but we also hear some life advice telling us to slow down (When it’s hot, eat a root beer, a popsicle. Shut off the AC and roll the windows down) and enjoy those moments life offers up to us.

Remember that not everything is bad, and spread some more good in this world.
