You shouldn’t have one without the other.
My boss always tells me to take a vacation when I start to get too stressed and have too much on my plate. For a long time, I thought that was counter-intuitive until he imparted some wisdom on me… Vacations are necessary. You have to shut your brain off once in a while so it has time to rest and regenerate! If you do nothing but work, how are you any different than a machine?
What makes us special is the ability to make our own decisions, and to be creative and inventive.
So don’t be afraid to use a sick day once in awhile and or take that dream vacation!
